Pilot Iroshizuku Murasaki Shikibu is now available for purchase online and in-store pick up at Dromgoole's - Houston, Texas
Iroshizuku comes from the Japanese words Iro (Color) and Shizuku (Droplets), literally translating to droplets of color.
Murasaki Shikibu shares a name with the most famous author of the Heian period, Lady Murasaki. Her most famous work, The Tales of Genji, is widely considered the first novel in the entire world. In it, the purple berried bush that inspires this ink becomes a focal point of the two lovers, and subsequently became known as the Murasaki Shikibu flower.
Murasaki-shikibu is a bright, true purple with very little shading and no sheen.
